AN ENVIRONMENTAL STATEMENT Regulation 5 of the Environmental Impact Assessment Land Drainage Improvement Works (Amended) Regulations 1999 SI 1999/1783

Modification to trash screen

The Environment Agency gives notice that it proposes to make

modifications to the trash screen on the Yeolands Stream in

Harbertonford. (SX7840156089).

The proposed improvement works involve extension of the existing screen approximately 2m upstream to provide working space for operatives and improve resilience of the screen, raising of the adjacent brick wall by 500mm and upgrading the existing timber fencing to new metal railings.

The Environment Agency considers that the improvement works are not

likely to have significant effects on the environment and does not intend

to prepare an environmental statement in respect of them. Schedule 2 criteria have been considered and the works are of small scale and not in an environmentally sensitive area. No significant adverse effects have been identified. Any minor effects will be managed through an Environmental Action Plan, and mitigation implemented. The impacts of the works are minor even without mitigation.

Design details of the proposed works can be obtained by contacting the Environment Agency Project Manager at the address below.

Any person wishing to make representations in relation to the likely environmental effects of the proposed improvement works should do so, in writing, to the address specified below, within 30 days of the date of publication of this notice.
