Temporary Closure of Acland Lane

Somerset County Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, propose to make an Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along Acland Lane - from 135 metres south of the junction with Exford to Wheddon Cross Road, south eastwards for a total distance of 300 metres.

This Order will enable Utility Services Ltd to carry out pole replacement works on behalf of BT Openreach.

The Order becomes effective on 27th May 2022 and will remain in force for eighteen months. The works are expected to commence on 1st June 2022 and last until 1st June 2022 between the hours of 09:00 - 15:30 for a total of 6.5 hours.

b) because of the likelihood of danger to the public, or of serious damage to the road, which is not attributable to such works.
