A396 Dunster to Timberscombe Road and
Bonniton Lane, Minehead in the Parish of Dunster
(Temporary 40mph Speed Limit) Order 2022
Somerset County Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, intends to make an Order, the effect of which will be to introduce a temporary 40mph Speed Limit as specified in the Schedule below.
This Order will come into operation on the 27th day of May 2022 and will remain in force for eighteen months.
The Works are expected to commence on the 4th day of June 2022 for 2 days between 08:00 hours and 15:30 hours. The restrictions will only apply when indicated by traffic signs.

Temporary 40mph Speed Limit
A396 Dunster to Timberscombe Road, Minehead – From a point 298 metres west of the junction with Knowle Lane in a westerly direction for a distance of 296 metres.
Bonniton Lane, Minehead – From its junction with the A396 Dunster to Timberscombe Road in a south-westerly
direction for a distance of 70 metres.
Statement of reasons for making the Order
a) because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road; or
b) because of the likelihood of danger to the public, or of serious damage to the road, which is not attributable to such works.
