Temporary Closure of

Stagshead Lane and Hollam Lane

Somerset County Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, propose to make an Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along: Stagshead Lane - Hollam Lane - from the junction with Bridgetown to Exbridge Road, south westwards for a distance of 300 metres; and Stagshead Lane - from the junction with Bridgetown to Exbridge Road, eastwards for a distance of 900 metres. For a total distance of 1200 metres. This Order will enable BT Openreach to carry out overhead cabling, tree cutting and poling work.

The Order becomes effective on 24th June 2022 and will remain in force for eighteen months. The works are expected to commence on 27th June 2022 and last until 1st July 2022 between the hours of 08:00 - 17:00 for a total of 5 days.

Statement of Reasons for making the Order

a) because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road; or

b) because of the likelihood of danger to the public, or of serious damage to the road, which is not attributable to such works.
