Temporary Closure of Market House Lane

Somerset County Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, propose to make an Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along Market House Lane - for its entirety. A total distance of 126 metres. This Order will enable Greenlight Highways Ltd to carry out works to the side elevation of a building.

The Order becomes effective on 1st July 2022 and will remain in force for eighteen months. The works are expected to commence on 10th July 2022 and last until 17th July 2022 between the hours of 09:30 - 15:30 for a total of 8 days.

There is no alternative route for this closure. The works promoter will contact residents and businesses directly to discuss access arrangements.

b) because of the likelihood of danger to the public, or of

serious damage to the road, which is not attributable to such works.
