Temporary Closure of Back Lane

Somerset County Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, propose to make an Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along Back Lane - from the junction with Williton to Bridgwater Road westwards for 400 metres.

This Order will enable Western Power Distribution to carry out trenching works to underground services.

The Order becomes effective on 8th July 2022 and will remain in force for eighteen months. The works are expected to commence on 11th July 2022 and last until 18th July 2022 between the hours of 08:00 - 18:00 for a total of 8 days.

a) because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road; or

b) because of the likelihood of danger to the public, or of serious damage to the road, which is not attributable to such works.
