EAST WARD OF THE PARISH OF KINGSTEIGNTON
NOTICE OF VACANCY IN THE OFFICE OF
TOWN COUNCILLOR
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a casual vacancy has occurred in the office of Town Councillor for the East Ward of the Parish.
The vacancy will be filled by the Town Council unless within 14 working days from the date thereof notice as indicated below is given requiring an election to be held.
An election to fill the vacancy will be held if notice in writing is given to the Chief Executive, Teignbridge District Council, Forde House, Newton Abbot, TQ12 4XX by ten local government electors for the said Ward requiring that an election be held in which event the election will be held within 60 days from the date of this notice.
Any such notice must be received by the Chief Executive by no later than Wednesday 25 May 2022.
TO QUALIFY FOR THE POSITION OF TOWN
COUNCILLOR, A CANDIDATE MUST COMPLY WITH THE FOLLOWING:-
a) The candidate/s must be a local
government elector for Kingsteignton Town
OR
b) Has during the whole of the 12 months
preceding, occupied as owner or tenant any land or other premises in the Town OR
c) His/her principal or only place of work during those 12 months has been in the Town
OR
d) Has during the whole of those 12 months resided in the Town or within three miles of it.
